According to Sheikh Abu Ahmed, life prior to the conflict was peaceful , everyone lived peacefully together. The community were productive working on salt production and markets. They also had a viable market for livestock and business was going well. People lived comfortably.

However 4-5 months prior, the conflict begun and lasted about 4 months. Most of the people have only returned for less than a month.
