Discussing new and existing IDPs with the chief of Sira village. We are currently in Gorai. The chief has just received 43 newly displaced families from a. town 8kms from here. The town was attacked by Boko Haram. There has been a resurgence of attacks by the armed group since November 2022 when it appeared as though attacks were starting to reduce late last year. He is expecting more IDPs to arrive as we speak as entire villages are ransacked, looted and burnt down.

The chief has alocated 8 hectares of land to IDPs. He is expecting to have to carve up more land for more IDPs arriving.
