Renk Transit Centre 2 - Cicilia Awal Arouch, 37 yo, a returnee who escaped to Sudan from South Sudan during the 2013/14 civil war. Now she finds herself being disdlaced back to South Sudan due to the war in Sudan. She escaped during Ramadan last year, with her 6 children, the youngest of whom was only 3 months old. She was lactating when the war started. She recalled having to take her children through dead bodies when they tried to reach the bus that was to take them into South Sudan. The children, who have never seen such horrors cried and were very frightened. The bus driver demanded sums of money which they did not have. After much pleading, the driver did take them in the end, but only to another town within Sudan where her 8yo son contracted diabetes and was hospitalised. She has only just arrived in this transit centre with her children, elderly mother and sister with mental health issues in dec 2023.
