The 2021 flood in Bentiu has submerged houses and destroyed/Changed livelihoods. Agri farmers ahve since turned to fishing. Children are finding comfort in the floods waters reliefing themselves of the severe heat in this part of South Sudan. Even though the water levels are finally starting to subside 3 years down the track, there are now reports stating that Ugandan has just opened the dam which will see that water flood through Bentiu in about 4 months' time, a flood that is more significant than the previous one.
