UNOCHA-FAO: Gula Ram
Chatting to the women of the Gula Ram community. They have felt the impacts of climate change in their region first hand, experiencing real shortages of food for their livestock and for their families. Livestock numbers have now dwindled to nothing. Most livestock have either died or been sold for other food source. Some have been sold to fund the migration of their youths to neighbouring countries in an attempt to give them a better life. Water used to be abundant from the mountains, but it simply a trickle through those pipes that the community has built to transport water from the mountains to their villages. "Hardly enough water is coming from the mountains, we do not have enough water for drinking."
